  • “We Are All Gonna Make It, and by WE I mean US, Not YOU”

As an avid enthusiast of new technologies, it amazed me in 2020 that crypto could be that new medium through which digital art could thrive. However, none of it played out as I thought since the crypto sphere started to boom in 2021. As I dived into the abyss of this chaotic subject, I soon realised by working as a designer for a 'Metaverse' company that we were indeed smoke vendors, selling promises to the ones hoping to become prosperous days after the mint. The system seemed so utterly shattered and MLMesk that I had to dig deeper. So as I shovelled through all the glorious articles about blockchain, I finally encountered the journalistic masterpiece of Dan Olson, "The Line Goes Up".

Dan's video was so full of truth that all my enthusiasm about this technology was gone by the end of it. Beliefs vanished claim after claim, realising that I was one of the fools contributing to the legitimacy of this technology, selling it as a new eldorado to my friends, business partners and collectors. I felt a pang of tremendous guilt and wanted to do justice to Dan's work, giving it a chance to live in another format that people could sit and read, enjoying the journey with attractive visuals.
